Description: Jeffery Mauser in .333 Jeffery by W.J. Jeffery & Co. Ltd, 9 Golden Square, Regent St, London built on a Mauser 98 action with a 24" barrel with an island ramp front sight, barrel attached sling stud, and an island four leaf express rear sight with one standing and three folding leaves. The bore is excellent. The receiver is topped with a rail mounted Hensoldt-Wetzlar 4 power scope with a post and two heavy crosshairs in claw mounts. Optics are excellent. Double set triggers. Bottom metal witha straddle floorplate and trigger bow release. Jeffery serial number on trigger bow. Stocked in the English style in mostly straight grained English Walnut with some fiddleback figure with point pattern checkering, slim forend, and horn forend tip. LOP is 13 1/2" to a soft rubber pad. Weighs in at 9lb 9oz as scoped. This is a nice London rifle by a very reputable English maker in overall good condition showing light hunting use. William Jackman Jeffery was at 9 Golden Square, Regent St. from 1928 until 1953 with the business ultimately purchased by Holland & Holland in 1959. Included are 40 rounds new Bertram brass, 17 rounds modern Kynoch 300 grain solids and 3 empty brass, and 38 rounds professionally loaded custom ammo with Woodleigh bullets [20 300grain soft and 18 250 grain soft] SOLD |
