Jim Lewis Model 70 .375 H&H
Description: Full custom .375 H&H by the late Jim T. Lewis of Butte, MT built on a Pre-64 Model 70 action with a 24" Lilja barrel with recessed crown. The barrel features a hooded island ramp front sight and banded sling stud. The Model 70 receiver has the rear tang reshaped to the cloverleaf style. Bolt with four panel teardrop bolt knob checkering and a gold inlayed "B". Topped with custom bases and Lenard Brownell quick release rings holding a Leupold VARI-X III 1.5x5 scope with duplex reticle. All with a matte blue finish. All screws are indexed. Stocked in exhibition feathercrotch Black Walnut with a pancake cheekpiece, 28 LPI point pattern checkering, and an ebony forend tip with widow's peak. Steel grip cap inlayed with"MB" in gold. LOP is 13 7/8" Weighs in at 9lb 13oz as scoped. Mr. Lewis was a well known gunmaker. He was a Navy veteran who shot his first elk at age nine. Sadly, he passed on 2008. This piece remains in nearly new condition and most likely has never been hunted. SOLD |
