MAHILLION FN SPORTING RIFLE 270CAL...(PRICE REDUCED)
Description: ENGRAVED by WORLD FAMOUS FN ENGRAVER, JOSE' BAERTEN. H. MAHILLION BOLT ACTION RIFLE ... 270 caliber ... 24" barrel with the script markings "Ancienne Maison H. Mahillion Bruscelles/Acier Roechling" on the top and "270 B. Blindee" on the left followed by Belgium proof marks ... weight 9 lbs 0 oz (with scope) ... 44 5/8" overall ... LOP 14 1/2" over 1/2" Pachmayr black Old English recoil pad ... double set triggers (currently set to 3 oz pull) ... jeweled bolt & carrier ... quick release, hinged floor plate ... front sling attachment point is machined as part of the barrel. This gun comes equipped with a Leupold VX-3 1.5-5x20mm scope mounted with Leupold style rings and claw mount bases. In addition to this scope the rifle is equipped with 3 leaf flip up rear sights & a gold bead ramp front sight with a 'best ever' flip over protective cover. (NOTE: the scope, as well as the fixed sights were mounted and sighted in by New England Custom Guns using Federal factory Nosler 150gr partition bullets.) The satin nickle finished FN action displays some of the finest work ever done by Jose' Baerten. The top of the receiver and the trigger guard are covered in deep relief oak leaf clusters with dark shaded background. The floor plate is covered with the scene of a standing bull elk with pine trees and mountains in the background. The engraver's signature is at the bottom. The hand rubbed, oil finish stock is densly grained and marbled European walnut. It features a Monte Carlo cheekpiece and a pistol grip. The contrasting rosewood forend tip has a white line border and the matching grip cap has the border as well as a white inset diamond. 32LPI hand checkering with a free-form border, generously covers the forearm and the grip. The toeline has an inset coin finished oval with the initials "REM". This is a highest quality Belgian sporting rifle that is better than a Browning Olympian. The barrel bluing shows no wear and the bore is bright and shiny. The stock is excellent with clean checkering, no scratches and only some insignifigant marks along the top of the cheekpiece. The action is 'like new' tight and smooth and the triggers are incompareable. Current replacement cost for this item would be in excess of $20,000.
