Maurice Ottmar Custom Winchester Model 70 Pre-64
Description: Exceptional Maurice Ottmar custom rifle utilizing a Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 action in caliber 7mm Weatherby Magnum. Features include a highly figured English walnut stock with proper layout and 14 1/8" LOP, skeleton buttplate and grip cap, shadow line cheekpiece, pedestal inletted sling swivel bases, intricate checkering design and execution, checkered bolt knob, jewelled bolt body and follower, custom bolt release, Conetrol bases and rings, and Blackburn bottom metal. The barrel is 26" in length. Mr. Ottmar had a reputation as one of the finest custom stockmakers in existence, and this is a superb example of his craft. It is uncommon to find one of his rifles so marked "M Ottmar-Gunmaker" on the barrel, which shows that he had a hand in executing the metal work as well. It remains in 99% condition and appears to be unfired. Overall, this rifle shows elite workmanship in every respect. Please contact me via email, and I will respond promptly.
