Description:
The story of Paul Jaeger is very unique and interesting. Born in the United States in 1901, he returned to Germany with his parents when he was two. He completed his schooling in Germany with several areas of interest and graduated with a degree in engineering. He moved back to the US settling in New York. He soon moved to Philadelphia (Jenkintown) and converted a horse stable to a shop. After WWII he converted to a machine shop and started making custom hunting rifles from surplus military components. Later he converted the shop to a retail establishment where he sold guns and gun accessories. His innovations include a Single Set Trigger and Jaeger quick detach side mount for scopes. This gun is in excellent overall condition showing only light use. Wood is nicely figured and shows only a few light use marks. Some darkening at butt plate from age. Wood was broke at the wrist and professionally repaired. Blue remains excellent with a few light scratches and some light areas of oxidation. Barrel is stamped "Paul Jaeger-Jenkintown PA". Bore is excellent. This is a Controlled Round Feed action and is complete with a period Lyman adjustable peep sight. Beautiful gun! .300 Savage
