Custom bolt rifle utilizing the Mauser 1909 Argentine action chambered for the .257 Roberts cartridge by Peters & Hosea Gunmakers. It has a blacked, round 24” barrel with a recessed crown at the muzzle fitted with a barrel banded unmarked express rear sight - 1 standing serrated matte with gold-line and 3 folding leaves, barrel banded stippled matte ramped white tipped blade and barrel band stud for sling. Top of the barrel is engraved in Old English: "Peters & Hosea, Gunmakers, Beaver Creek, Oregon, U.S.A." between barrel banded rear express sight and barrel banded stud for sling. Left side of the barrel is engraved in Old English: "Cal. .257 Roberts" between barrel shank and barrel banded rear express sight. Left side of the barrel shank is roll marked: "MAUSER MODELO ARGENTINO 1909" and the right side with serial number and cartouche. Left side of the receiver is roll marked: "DEUTSCHE WAFFEN-UND MUNITIONSFABRIKEN. BERLIN." and on the top left side of the receiver wall is engraved in Old English: "Dominion Grade". The action is fitted with a 2-positon checkered wing safety, fire-blued smooth single trigger, hinged floor plate, and 2-piece scope bases. Light coverage English Arabesque scrolls on receiver, bolt release lever, floorplate, trigger guard, barrel banded stud for sling, barrel band for front sight, cross bolt caps, action screw heads, and bottom of bolt knob. The extractor and cocking indicator are fire blued. Nicely figured deluxe quality walnut stock with beaded (shadow line) pancake cheek piece, round knob pistol grip, fine classic borderless wrap-around point pattern checkering, horn forearm tip, engraved reinforcing crossbolt, stud for sling on the toe line of buttstock and 5/8" Old English style rubber recoil pad. 14-1/4" LOP, 7 Lbs. - 10 Oz.
