Description:
This is a Custom made Sako L579 19" Mannlicher carbine in .458 X 2 caliber (which is a shortened .458 Win. Magnum). Made by Robert Snapp who was a very well known custom rifle builder from the USA. It has a 19" barrel and Mannlicher stock with Old English pad. Comes with reloading dies and some reloaded ammo and brass. It is little fired.The rifle was test fired by my gunsmith and shoots just fine. The bore is mirror bright with deep rifling and the action is smooth and tight. One tiny crack on the stock just starting behind the receiver. Very pretty grain in the stock. Comes with the Leupold M8 3-power scope with post and crosshairs reticule. The .458 X 2" cartridge is a well know wildcat and is written up on Wikipedia. It will not shoot regular .458 Winchester Magnum ammo. The .458 X 2 is very similar to the Marlin .450 caliber. The only difference is the belt on the case is shorter. So this rifle can be rechambered to .450 Marlin by any good gunsmith.
