A classic American sporting rifle that is of high quality , workmanship and features.
20 1/2” barrel. Kollmorgen Bear Cub 4x scope with crosshair reticle in Jaeger Side Mount. Based on the quality of the base installation, it was done right and possibly by Jaeger. Lyman Banded Ramp front sight, Lyman 57 Rear sight with extra slot blank. This classic styled rifle was most likely made in the 50’s. Made by the gunsmiths Wallack & Holmes of Mayfield, NY.. (marked on barrel) Bob Wallack was the gunsmith, rifle maker, and also an excellent BR competitor. Morgan Holmes was the stockmaker. They used a nicely laid out straight grained piece of French Walnut for the stock and the checkering is very nice with lots of coverage. and you can see from the photos, the detail around the receiver sight base and comb nose treatment are superb. Excellent bore. Neidner steel Buttplate. Steel grip cap. I also have a set of 1” split rings if you want to mount a newer scope. Try to find a rifle of this quality today for anything close to what I am asking for this rifle. Call if you want me to go over the gun with you.
