Description:
Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 action is what this custom rifle by John Unrein started with..
From there a 22" Dougles Featherweight barrel, chambered in 9.3 x 62, was installed and fitted. Then a barrel band front sight was added along with an ajustable blade, standing rear sight. Then finished with Model 70 bottom metal. Mounted on top are 1" diameter Leupold Quick Release rings.
The fully bespoke stock of fine Walnut has a raised, shadow-line cheek piece, 13 3/4" length of pull over the Pachmayr rifle pad. Inletted front and rear sling swivels and a contrasting forearm tip. The stock was configured so that the magazine capacity is 4+1. The swept back pistol grip has a "hearty" 5 1/2" circumference.
Configured to be the ideal Plains Game magazine rifle. Weighs 7 lbs. 13 oz. as shown.
98%+ finishes with the sole exception being a small "chip" out of the stock behind the top tang.
