Verney Carron Prestige O/U Left Hand Double Rifle 8xX57 IRS

Description:
This Prestige model has custom factory left hand wood. It was a special order as I wanted a lightweight rifle for stalking with a quick follow-up shot. The 8X57JRS is a favorite driven game caliber in Europe. The rifle has very visible iron sights that align so well thst I've never mounted a scope in the Recknagel 1" scope swing mounts that are included. I have used an aperture sight that clamps to the rear scope bracket but the open sights are faster.  There is a mount produced that permits the use of a small Docter red dot sight in the front socket. I have one on another rifle but frankly on this gun the open sights are better. There are a few minor handling marks but none of consequence. This rifle was regulated with 196 grain Norma ammunition. I used a variety of factory ammo and handloads and they all shoot well. The trigger is a single nonselective type in the rear position. The gun weighs right at 7 pounds.
