Heym O/U double rifle 8x57JR made in November 1945
Description: Sale pending!!! #26574 , Heym O/U double rifle 8x57JR. Made in November of 1945 a nice superposed rifle with a 23 5/8” barrel. Shinny bores and chambers , the extractor body is a descent replacement. Kreighoff scope mount bases , single flip up rear sight with wide and narrow notches. Three piece forend. Blacking appears original and is in 85% plus condition. With Sellier and Bellot 196 Gr the rifle shoots just inside 3 “ groups at 55 yards, with good individual barrel accuracy, but I would guess it was regulated with a scope . Weight is 7lbs.4 oz. Stout side plated action with Purdey flat bolt and Kersten top fastener, double set triggers in a 99% condition horn trigger guard. Very fine and lively game scenes engraving with 80% scroll coverage, traces of the original case color hardening . Jointing of the breech is as tight as it was 74 years ago when it left the factory. LOP is 14 3/8” over a ¼” horn butt plate with an elaborate checkering pattern, in great condition, shadow line cheek piece, tasteful horn inlays in place of tear drops. Not only the wood has an attractive mix of marble and fiddle back figures , but it is also in very nice original condition at 85% plus . A few dents can be expected after 74 years of use… The checkering condition matches the rest of the gun. One of the last Heym built in Suhl as the factory moved to Ostheim in West Germany in early 46. SOLD Manufacturer: Heym Model: Superposed Serial Number: 26574 Caliber Info: 8x57JR Condition: Very nice LOP: 14 3/8 Weight: 7 Lbs 4 oz. |
