D. Vicknair Bar-in-Wood, Rising Bite Double Rifle, .30 W.C.F.
Description:
An absolutely unique double rifle in a versatile caliber (the .30-30 is a very capable cartridge, even more so when not hamstrung by low-BC, tubular magazine safe bullets). This rifle is entirely hand made and is the result of almost 1500 hours of work. From design to stocking, it was all done here, by me, using entirely manual methods: no CNC, no castings, no "repurposed" parts or help from "outworkers". It is not based upon an existing action, nor is it a conversion of an existing gun. It is one-of-a-kind and it always will be, because there will never be another. The bar-in-wood action is leverless and employs a direct-acting, sliding actuator to operate the bolts. The sidelocks are inboard mounted and of a unique, unitized design. It's stocked in Turkish walnut with a Silver's recoil pad. The forend latch resembles a wedge type but it actually functions in the manner of an Anson type latch (simply slide it rearward to disengage). The 24 inch Douglas barrels are 1/10 twist and are regulated for Hornady's 160 grain FTX Leverevolution ammunition. The bases accept Talley rings. Weight is 9.25 pounds. The entire construction is detailed on my site (just search my name).
A chance to own the ultimate rarity, one of one.
Sale price includes blacking of the barrels and French grey for the balance of metalwork.
Offered at a fraction of what it would cost to duplicate.
