Description:
Early D&J Fraser ejector double rifle in excellent condition as restocked, in the original maker's case with some tools, labels, and original scope rings (sadly, without the Fraser "patent telescopic sight", replaced with a vintage Kahles 2.3-7x in Warne rings). Action has intercepting sears, bushed strikers, serpentine fences, and is fully covered with beautifully cut tight double line shaded scroll. Bolted automatic safety with gold "SAFE" detail and silver "Bolted" inlay. Forend has Rigby lever closure. Steel chopper lump barrels w excellent bores, proofed 40-300gr, original single leaf rear and front moon sights, sleek file-cut rib bearing the later Dan'l Fraser name and address, suggesting a rebarrel by the maker. Restocked including modification of the tang to straight grip, retaining the original engraved heel-and-toe plates. "Rear Admiral Montgomerie" tooled into case lid. Incl. regulation target for scope and irons (remarkably, regulated well either way), 10 loaded rounds, 30 softs, dies. 9.5lb w/o scope.
