Proof marks indicate that the rifle was produced prior to 1878 and the barrels are gauged at 38 (.497 inch). Features a blued finish with case-hardened frame. Both sides of lockplate are engraved "JOHN LYELL & CO." and the top of the barrels are marked "JOHN LYELL & CO. ABERDEEN". The barrels have a full-length closed rib with a fixed-notch standing rear sight and folding sights at 150 and 200 yards. The front sight has a beaded blade. The stock features a checkered pistolgrip with horn cap and English cheekpiece and a splinter forearm with lever release. The stock is also fitted with a bookend-style steel buttplate. Fine overall refinished condition with minor handling marks and dings to the steel and wood. None
