Lyon & Lyon Double Rifle in 450
3 1/4 Inch Nitro Express
Description: A very early Lyon & Lyon of Calcutti hammer rifle in 450 Nitro Express. This heavy gun has 28 inch barrels that have excellent bores. It is regulated for 70 grains of Cordite and a 480 grain bullet. The gun shows very little use and much of the case colors are still present. It comes with a 3 die set of Hornady loading dies and 19 fired and deprimed cases. It will be shipped in a hard case. The left barrel is marked with "Lyon & Lyon, 16 Crowringhee Road, Calcutti. Jas Lyon. late with Purdy & Sons, London." The right barrel is marked; "For 450 Cartridges, 70 Grains Cordite, 480 Grain Bullet" The sights are for 100, 200 and 300 yards. The locks are rebounding and it has a Jones Underlever action. Probably the strongest of all double rifle actions. A very high condition old gun from the early 1900's.
