Description:
Thomas Bland 500/450 Number 1 - 2 3/4" Black Powder Express. As an antique this rifle can be shipped directly as local law allows. Exceptional condition retaining a majority of original finishes. Strong case color. Elegant pistol grip stock with sharp checkering, steel buttplate and metal grip cap. Back action locks with non rebounding hammers. Jones underlever - very tight on face. Rear standing sight marked "100 YDS" with flip up at 150. Blade front sight. Left barrel engraved at breech "T. Bland & Sons" while right is "106 Strand, London". Screw slots in perfect order. Bores are very bright with well defined rifling. Overall bores would rate a "9" on a 1 to 10 scale. Barrel length is 28", typical for guns from that time period. Barrels ring nicely with no loose ribs. Eyelet swivels. Wedge forend fastening system. Weight is 9 LBS. LOP is 14 1/2". Not cased. Included is a supply of 19 cartridges loaded to the following specifications. Powder - 53 Grains of 4198 plus pillow stuffing to neck. Primer - Magnum. Bullet - 350 Grains. Shipping is $75. This rifle was made in the early 1880's or before. We have never seen a rifle this old in essentially unused condition. A London bast quality hammer double rifle.
