The Chapuis Elan X-4 is a fantastically well-built double rifle chambered for smaller cartridges up to 9.3x74R. The standout feature of this gun is a muzzle tension system which allows the user to regulate the rifle for different loads—all without need of a gunsmith! Perhaps best of all, this system is well hidden and maintains top and bottom ribs for a very traditional appearance.

Built on a 28ga-sized frame and weighing in at just over 6 ¾ lbs ( varying wood density notwithstanding), this is a very trim and handy rifle. The rib is pre-cut with removable sections to accommodate Recknagle swing-off scope bases with return-to-zero capability.
