European(country unknown) Hammered Double rifle. Caliber- Unknown.
Description: MYSTERY EUROPEAN DOUBLE RIFLE. (Any info would be appreciated from double experts). ESTATE GUN. Appears made in 1903 as that is stamped with the serial # in the engraving. Seems to me to be of typical European Quality. Engraving seems quality. Stamping is in a foreign language. Maybe Eastern European. Can't identify what appears to be the trademark stamped on both barrels(bow and arrow in circular crest) which is also in a cartouche in buttstock. There are 2 small markings on watertable near serial #, but I can't match them to any proofs in my books. Gun is solid, tight, and seems to function as it should including hammers and firing pins. Wood is all good with NO cracks or flaws. Caliber is unknown to me, but muzzles both mic out at about .430-.435. Nothing stamped on barrels indicating caliber. It appears to have sleeved barrels. Bores are bright and shiny. Riflings appear quite good. Right barrel looks to have some light erosion right in front of chamber. There is one area on right barrel above rear of forearm where the bluing is worn off. Visible in pics. As to its value, it may be worth more than I am asking, but I don't think its worth much less based on what most European double rifles bring. Just going to see what kind of responses I get. It is a neat piece in what I believe to be in pretty nice shape. Again, if anyone can educate me on it, I would be much obliged. Price is shipped to FFL in lower 48. NO CA Sales. Thanks for looking.
