An American made sidelock double rifle chambered for the .450/400 3-1/4" cartridge. It has a 26” blacked steel rifled barrels fitted with ejectors, spearpoint matted quarter rib with spade head rib extension third fastener. Express gold lined rear sights - 1 standing regulated for 50 yards and 2 folding leaves regulated for 100 and 150 yards. Spearpoint tipped blade front sight and front sling eyelet on the under rib. The gun is marked "N. L. HEINEKE INC. 201 S. 2ND STREET LARAMIE, WY. US." on the top rib between the front and rear sights, "450/400 3 1/4'" marked on the left barrel towards breech, The barrels are mated to a case color hardened bolstered sidelock screw grip action with long top strap over comb, which displays beautifully executed traditional rose bouquet & scroll engraving surrounding "N. L. HEINEKE, INC." signatures on either lockplate and a mix of bright and fire blued pins. The engraving is signed by engraver Jim Blair on the triggerplate to the right of the trigger guard. The rifle features disc-set strikers, cocking indicators on either lockplate and a non-automatic safety with "SAFE" gold-inlaid ahead of the checkered slide safe, case color hardened serrated double triggers protected by blacked light scroll engraved trigger guard with right hand rolled edge that extends to a full-length bottom strap. Beautifully figured reddish-brown walnut stock with beaded cheekpiece, drop points, point pattern checkered pistol grip, grip with case color hardened engraved steel cap box, gold stock oval engraved "MJF" and rear sling eyelet. Point pattern checkered Splinter fore-end with lightly engraved escutcheon and Anson style push button release, 14-7/8” LOP over a 5/8" leather covered recoil pad, 10 Lbs. - 6 Oz.
