Description: German Drilling. 16x16/9.3x72. 27 1/2" barrel. Bullet trap in stock. Pop up leaf sight. Gold inlay on top of rib reads “H. Camphausen Crefeld”. Gun is highly engraved. Pitting to right side of receiver. Chip to left side of forearm. Marring to left side of barrel. Normal carry wear. Overall, 68%-72%. Barrel Markings: 2g Sch. P./27 gBl PRIMA FLUSS STAHL 118/35 DRGM 24043 344 (the number 3 at the end of the first number may be an 8) Various letters on barrel under, over, or next to many proof marks: D, G, W, U Workings: Unable to determine how firing pin is actuated - it appears that it is internal. No safety identified No ejectors Lever on top pushed to left changes from shotgun to rifle and pops up the leaf sight Lever on side releases barrel for loading and disassembly Engravings: Left receiver/lock plate: Elk and 2 jackrabbits Right receiver/lock plate: Stag and hound Bullet trap door: Lion I have a letter from Axel Eichendorff, considered an expert in the field, explaining all the markings. It is not an official letter like a Cody Museum letter. Dates 1897-1911. Serial number 3231 - marked on barrel and receiver.
