Imman Meffert Vierling 16x16x8mmx22 Hornet

Description:
1937 Vierling (4 barreled gun) 90%-95% gun, Very good to fine condition. Boxlock break open combination gun produced by the Immanuel Meffert Company using Dural Aluminum in the action for weight reduction. Double set triggers. Fully functional. Barrel selection is on the tang and the safety is on the inside of the wrist.
There are no markings on the rib to indicate caliber of the small rifle. The top barrel is 22 Hornet and the shotgun barrels are 16 gauge (or bore), and the bottom barrel is a 8x57JR. Krupp-Laufstahld stamped on barrels, located under handguard. Trigger Guard made from Buffalo horn. Beautiful engraving on receiver of fowl and wild game scene.
All hunting seasons in Germany were concurrent and this is why they designed such intricate and beautiful multibarreled sporting guns. No matter where you carried these firearms you were ready for action both big game and small.
