The 9.3x72R was before WWII the most common center fire boar/deer hunting cartridge in Europe. I have heard it said it is the "30-30" of Europe as it was so common but in ballistics it is a much better brush (100 yard or under ) cartridge than the 30-30. The 180-220 grain bullets certainly throws a much better punch at about 2000fps. The bores on these drillings are typically .360 and many have found the American 35 caliber bullets work very well in these guns.
Do note that some of the commercially available ammunition has bullet dimeters of .366 should not be fired in these pre war guns.
The brass can be used however and in most cases fits perfectly. *** Note: To see this gun with high resolution photos and a zoom-in feature, go to the vintagedoubles main site and search for the gun ID: 4857 or browse the main site to see our full gun collection.
