#100054, Gebruder Merkel - Suhl: A Merkel O/U Combination 12 Bore over a 7 x 65R Model 211E Made in 1973 on their Kersten Action Body, It is with 25 5/8" Ejector Bohler Rasant Steel barrels with a full length solid rib with 1 two way folding rear sight to be used either for rifle or smoothbore, .719 .026" (Imp.Mod.), Original 2 3/4" chamber, Nitro Proofed in Suhl, Original claw mount bases with a rail mounted (The Only Way To Go) Zeiss Diavari-Z 1.5-6 x 42 scope with a duplex type crosshair, Bolstered frame, Scalloped action back, Double triggers with the rifle front trigger a set trigger, Cocking indicators, 3 piece forend, Pistol grip stock at 14 1/4" over a 1" pad, Steel trigger guard, Sling eyes, European style cheekpiece, 8 lbs. without the scope & 9 lbs. 5 oz. with, 85% engraving coverage of period scroll with ducks on one side and stag on the other, The original barrel blue at 95%, The original frame finish at 92-94% with a nice patina, The wood finish at 95% with slight handling marks, The checkering is sharp & crisp and remains at 98%, There is a very small chip of wood out at the head of the stock at the bottom of the action and a small sliver glued there but very well done and hard to see. The bores are excellent plus and they look like they did in November of 1973. This piece is not one of the modern Merkels and is a Suhl made gun.
