British pattern 3 Snider Enfield rifle-musket. Overall length is 55". The 36½" round .577 Centerfire round barrel has an excellent bore. All the metal is smooth and bright with scattered stains, to be expected of a 150-year-old infantry rifle. Stock is very good with a small repair on the right, just forward of the rear sight. No cracks or chips. Lock is stamped with a crown broad arrow/"1870"/ "Enfield" and crown / “VR" at the rear. Barrel has a 2/ steel/ 5 various inspection and proof marks. The top of the chamber is stamped “III". There are various other inspection and proof stamps throughout. The sling swivels and cleaning rod are present. The butt stock right side is stamped with a date over the round Enfield mark over “2". All except the “2" are indistinct. Action functions correctly. This is your chance to own a scarce pattern 3 Snider rifle in nice condition with a super bore.
