AFGHAN Antique BARNETT LONDON Pattern 1856 Smoothbored SHORT RIFLE Possible CONFEDERATE Civil War-Era Import Rifle
Description: AFGHAN Antique BARNETT LONDON Pattern 1856 Smoothbored SHORT RIFLE Possible CONFEDERATE Civil War-Era Import Rifle Here we present an antique Enfield Pattern 1856 Army Short Rifle, also known as the “Sergeant’s Rifle” made by Barnett in London, England, circa 1861. The British Enfield Pattern 1856 followed the original Pattern 1853 into service in an effort to produce a long gun that was more suited for use in the ranks of the infantry. This example was brought to the U.S. from Afghanistan. It includes a U.S. Armed Forced affidavit “bring back paper” from Bagram, Afghanistan dated August 29, 2016 listing this rifle by make and model. These made their way to Afghanistan when the British occupied the territory in an effort to create a block between Russia and British India in the mid-19th Century. The overall condition is good. Original patina. The action is excellent. The bore is smoothbored and in decent shape for age and use. The stock shows much use and wear as well as old graffiti. It remains solid. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 33 inches. Caliber: .61 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1350 #226967 SOLD Antique: Yes |
