Australian SMLE Mark III Lithgow Marked 303 British WWII C&R Eligible
Description:
Absolutely original finish 1941 production Lithgow Australian SMLE Mark III* in 303 British, about as original as any I've handled. Actually has a matching numbers magazine still in the rifle although I don't think the bolt is numbered to the gun. FTR and import marked so likely an 80's era import. Also appears to have gone for a swim in cosmoline - minor wear and storage/handling dings and definitley looks to have seen field use. Still has cosmoline under the handguard. Bore is bright and sharp and the gun locks up well. The market is trending upward for the SMLE and the MA marked Aussie rifles are getting hard to find - and these rifles still have room to climb in catching up with K98s and Garands. I would run the stock through the dishwasher when the wife isn't around. Once its cleaned up, it should be pretty presentable and should make a superb shooter as well should you be so inclined. If the dishes smell funny when you're done, blame it on the wifes cooking. Priced to sell at 850 firm. C&R OK where not prohibited by law. Shipping is 60.00 for UPS ground with tracking.
