British SMLE Mk. III* Rifle
Description:
Serial #A17730, .303 British, 25” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1916 dated, Enfield-made rifle that was rebuilt in 1953 and retains about 97-98% of the Korean War era Suncorite finish. There are some small areas of flaking and silvering a few of the high edges and projections. A crisp “FTR 1953” (Factory Thorough Repair) stamp is present on the left side of the receiver. The bolt is lightly freckled along the body, and has some dark gray streaks on the handle. The walnut forend and handguards are refinished to excellent shape and have an armory added oil finish over a few very minor handling marks and small blemishes. The buttstock has an identical finish, but also has two with-the-grain cracks on either side of the wrist running back from the socket. The rifle comes with a U.S. leather sling, and rates about very good-very good plus condition overall. FFL or C&R
