Description:
The Lee-Enfield was the standard military rifle of the United Kingdom from 1895 through 1957. Australia expanded production from the main Lithgow factory to regional factories to protect against possible bombing raids. This deactivated Enfield S.M.L.E. MKIII* was manufactured by the Orange Small Arms Factory (SAF No. 3) in New South Wales and is date stamped 1943. It has the DP (Drill Purpose) safety marking indicated this rifle was downgraded to training and parade use and was considered unserviceable for live ammunition and may not safe to fire. It will be a fine addition to any collection. .303 British
