ENFIELD NO.4 Mk1* LONGBRANCH CANADA 1949 WITH BAYONET
Description:
All [bolt and receiver] numbers match. There were fewer Canadian Enfield rifles mfg’d in 1949. This seems to be a pick up production year with more mfg’d in 1950 and thereafter to abt. 1958. The Canadians reduced the weight to abt. 9 lb from abt. 11 lb and improved the trigger design providing more control and accuracy. Another improvement was removal of the bolt by raising the bolt head at a slot in the guide rather than all aft. The barrel on this rifle appears to be a bright 5 grove. The finish appears excellent original as do the walnut stocks. The rear sight is a CMk3 [Canadian]. The bayonet is No.4 MkII. There are a few proof marks I was not able to identify- circle around A and an oval shape with a discernable “90” or "06". The mag proofs appear to be of a British subcontractor with British acceptance marks.

RETURN POLICY- All firearms come with a 3-day return policy conditioned upon the firearm being kept by the FFL during inspection period and returned in exactly the condition mailed- not being fired, messed with in any way. If you take the firearm from the FFL or fire it it’s yours. In the case of a return, buyer pays all shipping charges. YOU HAVE A 3 DAY INSPECTION PERIOD FROM THE DATE OF DELIVERY TO FFL OR C&R DEALER. SELLER WILL NOT REFUND SHIPPING COSTS AND THERE IS A 10% RESTOCKING FEE DEDUCTED FROM REFUND. YOURIS A BINDING CONTRACT, AND THIS CONTRACT INCLUDES YOU AGREEING TO ALL OF THE ABOVE, THE RESTOCKING FEE AND NO REFUNDS FOR SHIPPING. THE FIREARM MUST REMAIN WITH THE FFL DURING THE INSPECTION PERIOD. IF YOU TAKE POSSESSION OR FIRE THE GUN, SALE IS FINAL.
