KOREAN WAR Era British FAZAKERLEY Enfield No. 4 Mk II C&R MILITARY Rifle Primary INFANTRY Weapon of ENGLAND
Description: KOREAN WAR Era British FAZAKERLEY Enfield No. 4 Mk II C&R MILITARY Rifle Primary INFANTRY Weapon of ENGLAND Here we present a C&R Fazakerley Enfield No. 4 MK II Rifle, made circa 1952 at the Royal Ordnance Factory at Fazakerley, a suburb of Liverpool, England. The British No. 4 rifle was a development of the Short, Magazine Lee-Enfield Rifle. It featured a heavier, flat sided body, a heavier barrel, and an aperture rear sight. The No. 4 was approved for service in November of 1939, but due to the difficulties of setting up production in new factories, it didn’t see large scale production until early 1942. After that point, it became the primary British and Canadian infantry weapon. Production took place at the Royal Ordnance Factories at Fazakerley and Maltby, along with the BSA’s plant at Shirley and in the USA & Canada. After World War II, further design changes led to the development and production of the No. 4 Mk II, as is this example. The No. 4 Mk II (or Mk2) was adopted in 1949, with production at ROF-Fazakerley beginning in July of 1949 and continuing until 1955. Fazakerley was the only plant to manufacture the No. 4 Mk II. At the same time that the No. 4 Mk II rifle was approved, conversion of the Mk I and Mk I* rifles to the Mk II standard was undertaken. The converted No. 4 Mk I rifle was redesignated the No. 4 Mk I/2 Rifle, while the converted No. 4 Mk I* rifle was redesignated the No. 4 Mk I/3 Rifle. These conversions were also done at ROF-Fazakerley. The overall condition is good. Strong action. Bright bore. This example sports a solid stock that contains less than average wear. Sharp markings. “TAC. ALEX” is marked on the left side of the trigger guard. Nicely refinished. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 25-1/4 inches. Caliber: .303 British Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1500 #220726 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
