I have 1944 Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk III GRI Grenade launcher model (All matching serial numbers - bolt, rear sight, bayonet lug, and magazine). This is the GRI (British controlled) Indian standard pattern Lee-Enfield issued during WW2. The copper wire wrapping on the stock is in order to reinforce the stock during the stresses of firing rifle grenades. This model is rare these days as it has been 20-30 years since these were imported into the US, this one by CAI. Many of these wire wrapped models no longer have the wire reinforcement. It was common for US owners to remove the wire. This is a really cool WW2 rifle and is certainly not just your standard Enfield.
