Martini Henry Enfield 1879 Carbine

Description:
Ordnance issued .450/577 Martini ICI made at Enfield in 1879. RHS lock plate marked with crowned V.R. over Enfield and ICI.. Various broad arrow marks on trigger guard , cocking lever, lbarrel bands etc. Rifled barrel marked with proof and inspection stamps,  carbine ladder sight, front sight with protective wings and the long carbine pattern nose cap and bayonet boss. Walnut stock with  field service dings and very fine cracks at the top rang from recoil. Regulation steel furniture and ordnance marked and no cleanig rod present. Bore has very strong rifling but fouling.  This saw extensive service in English colonies like Africa and India they acreoos the globe like Afganhistan and Khyber pass, etc. Gun sold over 100 years old not sold as shooters.
