FN FABRIQUE NATIONALE MAUSER CHINESE contract FN LOGO CREST M1924 with Communist Arsenal marking, RARE featured in FN Mauser rifles by A Vanderlinden!
Description: SOLD.......1935 FNH FABRIQUE NATIONALE Mod 1924 FN LOGO on RECIEVER ring MAUSER CHINESE CONTRACT with Communist Arsenal marking, RARE, featured in FN Mauser rifles (by Anthony Vanderlinden) Very attractive rare example of the beautiful ornate FN CREST (on the receiver) Short Mauser Rifle supplied to China, cal 7.92 x 57 mm. The FN Logo crest was done to China as part of brand recognition. The Chinese did not add the year marking for the 1935 as the FN logo itself was the identifier. This rifle exhibits the postwar communist era Arsenal marking; the top marking denotes the location and the bottom characters stands for "People's Armed Forces". Because of the position of the rear sling swivel forward towards the pistol grip and the Liege proof marking on the barrel; it suggest that this rifle is a model 1924. Condition: Excellent quality and craftsmanship made by FNH, marked on the left side of the receiver " FAB. NAT. D'ARMES DE GUERRE HESTAL BELGIUM" ; on the right side the proper proof markings, the Lion represents the Belgian State Symbol, the letters "PV" stand for "Poudre Vive" (smokeless powder) meaning that it withstood excess pressure without deformation and the "Perron proof" as the final inspection. and the FN LOGO on the receiver ring. The barrel matches the receiver and it carries the Liege proof, "Crown R", the "Lion P V", "Star A" the inspector's marking and the "Proof of Liege" meaning the barrel mounted on the gun passed successfully the final testing and replacing the "Perron" proof. From my personal collection. Very nice example considering that the rifles were subjected to heavy use and unfortunately the Chinese soldiers were poorly trained to maintain them; Communist arsenals captured the rifles and stock pile them. This is the best example I came across so far; ALL ORIGINAL, CORRECT MILITARY CONFIGURATION, medal very clean gun without pitting with worn fading bluing, aging spots mixed with grayish pleasing patina throughout. Straight bolt as it is proper for this variant with a clean face without pitting just faint rings around the firing pin hole, with small inspector's part acceptance marking typically found on the 1935 and other markings on the bottom handle. All medal in the same condition with the usual scratches-handling marks, aging. It does have a discrete import marking on the underside of the barrel forward the bayonet lug. The action is crisp and tight; cocks on open. Bore is dark gray with worn rifling that might clean up better. The Buttstock is solid with NO CRACKS, NO GAUGES, it has the typical bruises, small dents, scuffs, scratches-handling marks, small faint stains and looks like it has a tiny repair up front where the two band springs come together. The handguard has bruises, scratches-handling marks, small chip on the right corner by the receiver, hairline crack forward barrel band and a repaired hairline crack from the sight to the receiver ring. Overall a very nice example of a well crafted FNHL made Short rifle CHINESE Contract with the ORNATE FN LOGO RECEIVER, all the FN proper markings and the Chinese marking on the buttstock. Extremely hard to find a 1935 FN LOGO Rifle Chinese contract!; this would make a fine addition to your collection.
