Dave Caboth, Alta, Iowa modern Webley single shot .600 Nitro Express. This is a modern Webley '97 Farquharson type action machined from a solid billet of 8620 steel by the very talented hands of Mr. Dave Caboth. It has a tapered round 25" Pac-Nor barrel profiled from a 2" blank. Island ramp front sight, barrel mounted sling eye, and single leaf island rear sight. Stocked by Mr. Caboth in near exhibition Turkish walnut that, none the less, has perfect grain flow through the wrist making it perfectly suitable for a big bore. Stocked in the English style with an ebony forend tip and point pattern checkering done by FEGA & ACGG member Jesse Kaufmann of Sturgis, S.D. The rifle features 50% coverage of English scroll engraving to include the case colored receiver, lever, sights, and grip cap done by FEGA member James White of Wasilla, Alaska. Bluing and case colors done by the same outfit in Sturgis that served Dakota. LOP is 14 1/2" over a Decelerator pad. Weighs in at 12lb 9oz
This is an exquisite piece by an outstanding gunmaker. I doubt that you would run out of fingers counting the number of gunmakers capable of building a gun like this from scratch. It remains new from the maker and test fired only.
