Stephen Heilman / Reto Buehler
Description: One of Stephen Heilman's last Mauser builds. There will not be any more Heilman Mauser's . Mauser perfection performed by Heilman that can not be duplicated. Heilman is well known by his peers and collectors as the best ( and one of the most expensive) in the custom gun building business for his metal work . Heilman also custom made the pattern stock for this rifle stock. This rifle started out as a Mauser 1909 Argentine and was completely gone over and customized by Heilman. No detail or time was spared. Only the finest custom components were used from the bottom metal, bolt handle , Krieger barrel, trigger, contoured scope bases (two sets of fitted rings 1" and 30MM), extractor , and countless hours for form , function and feeding. The rifle was custom stocked by master stocker Reto Buehler , using Heilman's custom made pattern stock for this rifle. Heilman was unable to finish the stocking of this rifle.The $2500 English stock blank was chosen for this project from a very select group of blanks that would match the quality of this build. It would be almost impossible to duplicate this stock blank for color, layout , grain pattern and strength. The stock is absolutely beautiful. Stocking is to perfection also . Few can compare to Buehler's level of building a rifle stock . This rifle handles like a finely built SXS H&H shotgun.
