Collector Grade FN-49 Venezuela SAFN 7mm Mauser FN49 Belgian
Description:
The first country to adopt the FN-49 in March of 1948. Chambered in very smooth and flat shooting 7mm Mauser (7x57). Featuring a beautiful French Walnut Stock with some live grain patterns. Adjustable gas system, loaded chamber indicator on the trigger guard. This second contract is one of the 8,000 total rifles sent to Venezuela over two separate contracts of 4,000 each. This one is unissued condition and retains its seal on the right butt stock and "LR" FN inspection seal just in front of the magazine. 24" barrel with a factory FN contract specific muzzle break. The barrel is threaded under and it can be swapped if desired. Matching numbers correct-Receiver, barrel, dust cover, bolt and bolt carrier and one hand guard piece. The seal (cartouche) on the right-side butt stock is unique to these second contract 4000 rifles. It means "Armed" and was ordered by the Army, not the Navy. 1000-meter rear sight with peep is fully adjustable and a front-opened winged blade is draftable.
These FN-49 Rifles are the last Elegant, wood and steel battle rifles that came directly after WWII. They are a unique treasure and opened the door to the successful FAL. This one is much deserving of any collection.
