Fabrique Nationale Egyptian FN-49 Sniper FN49 SAFN 3 Swivel 8mm Mauser
Description: Egyptian FN-49 Sniper 3 sling swivel variant produced by Fabrique Nationale in Belgium. Chambered in 8mm Mauser (7.92x57). This is a rare rifle in about 2,800 total were sent to Egypt to be converted to full snipers with the addition of Meopta Scope, ECHO Mounting System and wood cheek riser. These numbers were one continuous run of serial from around number 33000-35800. this serial number 34076 falls in this range. However; the number of full rigged sniper rifles finished in Egypt is from this batch is far less and considered to be about 1,400 total. So, in this rifle you are getting one of the few, very nice condition examples here in the U.S. that was special order. These rifles came in through Century Arms, but are not the same run of the mill rifle you see for sale. These were not touched and show the beautiful craftsman ship that FN is known for world wide. Includes matching Stock, dust cover, barrel, receiver, bolt and carrier. The grain and color of the stock really lends to a gorgeous looking example. The metal finish rates very high and so does the wood and bore conditions. The FN-49 features an adjustable rear sight with increments out to 1000 meters. This specific Egyptian Contract features Brass Butt Plate with trap door, Brass unit disc, Muzzle Cap, scope cut receiver and Arabic Markings on gas plug, rear sight, stock and receiver.
