The FNC was developed in Belgium by FN Herstal. Developed Circa 1974-1976 as a competitor to the ubiquitous M16, using the unsuccessful CAL as a jumping off point. This example is marked on the left side of the receiver with \" Fabrique Nationale Herstal / Made in Belgium / Gun South INC Birmingham, AL.\" with caliber markings on the rear. Left side of the frame \"S / 1\" fire control markings. Side-folding Paratrooper wire stock . 2 position aperture rear sight with marks for 250 and 400 meters, Front sight is an elevation adjustable post. Flip up grenade sight. Polymer Handguard and 12 port muzzle break. Imported by Gun South Inc Circa 1979-1980 this example is one of approximately 6000 imported into the US. Excellent Condition with minor handling marks excellent bore and strong rifling. This will be a great shooting vintage rifle.
