Scarce FN SA-22 Top Loader Like Browning with Threaded Barrel for Maxim Silencer, Takedown
Description: Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are right proud to offer this seldom seen John Browning designed FN Semi Automatic .22 rifle. This gun has the distinction of being the first successful semi automatic .22 Long Rifle ever produced. It was patented in 1913, and production began in 1914. Remington purchased the rights to the design and marketing in the USA, and it was called the model 24. The rifle we have here, produced by FN, was never imported into the USA. When the Remington contract expired, Browning imported the sideloader version starting in 1956. What we have here is the original top loading version. The icing on the cake is that it was fitted with a threaded barrel, set up for a Maxim silencer or its European equivalent. She is in good condition, with nicely figured walnut, original blue drifting to patina, and a bery good bore in the 19 1/4 inch barrel. This dainty rifle takes down in seconds with a 90 degree twist of the barrel, and locks up tight just as fast. The SA-22 has been a long running success, and collectors chase the standout examples. This is the model that started it all, and the threaded barrel really sets it apart. If you have been looking for the right SA-22 to collect, or for investment, but want one nobody else has, then look no further.
