Description:
Sharmon Smith Mauser .280 Remington Full custom Mauser .280 Remington built by the late Sharmon Smith of New Plymouth, ID in 1987 on a 1948 FN commercial single C-cut action. 24" Half Moon sightless barrel with 1-10" rate of twist. Custom swept bolt handle. Blackburn bottom metal with straddle floorplate and trigger bow release. Blackburn trigger and two position side swing safety. Checkered bolt release. Leupold Vari-XII 3x9 scope with duplex reticle. All metal satin rust blued. Stocked in an extremely nice piece of Circassian Walnut with deeply conrasting dark marble cake lines. Point pattern checkering with mullered border that is over the top on the grip and completely wraps the forearm. Two screw inletted sling swivel studs with hidden screws. Skeleton steel grip cap and buttplate with checkered centers. This is an extremely well done piece with many quality custom features in a great caliber. Inletting and quality of workmanship are superb. Built on one of the early commercial FN actions that have a single cut front reciever ring. It doesn't get much better than this. Remains as new from the maker. .280 Remington
