You seldom come across these early Francotte Martini Cadet Rifles in the United States but here is one that is still unaltered in its original military configuration. This is the best example we've seen to date. Caliber is 297/230 which is no longer manufactured. The entire action can be pulled out in one section with the simple removal of a pin. These were purchased by British Colonies and Schools as they were almost identical to the largeinal Martini Henry Rifle but about 2/3 the size and very well made. Original sights. Still has its Original Francotte factory barrel...not a later BSA replacement or rebarrel which is quite common on these early ones. 85% original blue. Very Good Plus Original Wood with nice tiger striped walnut. No extra holes, scope mounts, or alterations. No cleaning rod which is correct as they were ordered to discarded by the Military around the turn of the 20th century. NRA Antique Fine Plus Overall with Nice bore.
