The Templar SA Receiver (made for GA Precision by Defiance Machine LLC) is based on Defiance’s “Deviant Hunter” model and is machined from one piece of pre-hardened aircraft certified 416 stainless steel with integral recoil lug, and the Fluted Bolt is machined from one piece of pre-hardened aircraft certified 4340 chrome moly and threaded for interchangeable knobs. After meticulously following GAP’s barrel break-in procedures and sight in, this rifle was only hunted with once when it was used, ironically, to successfully bag an outstanding “Non-Typical” Texas white-tail buck. I only used the rifle with factory Winchester 150 grain Ballistic Silvertip ammunition as I had a large stock of it on hand. I was easily able to shoot sub 0.7 MOA groups with this ammo, which was good enough for my immediate hunting needs. I believe the rifle could shoot < 0.5 MOA with premium factory match grade ammunition as that was GA Precision’s accuracy guarantee when I purchased the rifle and every GAP rifle I own has been able to meet or exceed this.
Vais muzzle brakes reduce the felt recoil of a 300WSM by as much as 50%, down to the level of a 243, with only a 5-10% increase in sound levels. Many hunting guides will only allow their clients to use Vais brakes because of the noise factor associated with brakes. According to David Dury of Dury’s Gun Shop “Vais muzzle brakes are by far the best muzzle brakes we have ever used”.
Weight of the rifle with scope bases & rings installed, but without a scope is approximately 8lbs 10.74oz, and approximately 10lbs 4.24oz with the Leica scope, which weighs 1lbs 9.50oz.

GA Precision Non-Typical Hunter rifle - Chambered in 300WSM, in used but excellent+ condition, meticulously maintained, with less than 100 rounds fired. It would cost over $5,000 (with Vais Muzzle Brake and Badger 30mm Rings) to order this rifle today with a long waiting period. This rifle is 100% factory, as originally ordered, and incorporates the following features:
Action: Templar SA (manufactured for GA Precision by Defiance Machine LLC), with side bolt release
Trigger: Remington – tuned to a crisp 2 ½ lbs.
Barrel: Bartlein 25” - Contour #3 - 1:10 Twist Rate
Barrel Thread: 5/8” x 24 threads on muzzle to acommodate use of Muzzle Brakes, Suppressors, etc.
Brake: Vais Muzzle Brake - factory installed - removable - thread protector not included
Stock: Bell & Carlson Hunter Stock, green w/black web, palm swell, fully bedded, 2 sling studs, and decelerator pad

Scope Mount: One-piece GA factory Base with 30mm Badger Rings
The Templar SA Receiver (made for GA Precision by Defiance Machine LLC) is based on Defiance’s “Deviant Hunter” model and is machined from one piece of pre-hardened aircraft certified 416 stainless steel with integral recoil lug, and the Fluted Bolt is machined from one piece of pre-hardened aircraft certified 4340 chrome moly and threaded for interchangeable knobs. Extractor is the M-16 type, and the one-piece Scope Base is attached with 4 8-40 Tapered Head grade 8 T-15 screws.
After meticulously following GAP’s barrel break-in procedures and sight in, this rifle was only hunted with once when it was used, ironically, to successfully bag an outstanding “Non-Typical” Texas white-tail buck. I only used the rifle with factory Winchester 150 grain Ballistic Silvertip ammunition as I had a large stock of it on hand. I was easily able to shoot sub 0.7 MOA groups with this ammo, which was good enough for my immediate hunting needs. I believe the rifle could shoot < 0.5 MOA with premium factory match grade ammunition as that was GA Precision’s accuracy guarantee when I purchased the rifle and every GAP rifle I own has been able to meet or exceed this.
Vais muzzle brakes reduce the felt recoil of a 300WSM by as much as 50%, down to the level of a 243, with only a 5-10% increase in sound levels. Many hunting guides will only allow their clients to use Vais brakes because of the noise factor associated with brakes. According to David Dury of Dury’s Gun Shop “Vais muzzle brakes are by far the best muzzle brakes we have ever used”.
Weight of the rifle with scope bases & rings installed, but without a scope is approximately 8lbs 10.74oz, and approximately 10lbs 4.24oz with the Leica scope, which weighs 1lbs 9.50oz.
The scope shown in the pictures is not included in the sale, however, one-piece GA base and Badger 30mm scope rings are. A price for the scope may be negotiated with an interested buyer. The scope is a Leica ER5 3-15x56 30mm with a Magnum Ballistic Reticle that perfectly complements the rifle. It’s one of the best low light performance scopes made and allows for seeing game in almost complete darkness. Leica has a with a program that allows you to produce custom ballistic holdover charts for the Magnum Ballistic reticle using your particular ammunition’s ballistics. These can be printed out and taped to the top of the scope for quick reference in the field.
