Newly made custom takedown rifle in caliber 400 Purdey (aka 400 NE or 400 Straight). But with a twist: .411 14 twist McGowen barrel so you can shoot readily available, heavier bullets eg 300 gr Hornady softs, 350 grain Swift A-frames, down to economical 41 mag cast or jacketed, or even multi-ball loads using 410 wads and 000 buck (these group very tightly and will take pests with authority). Make brass from 9.3x74R by simply neck expanding, loading, fire-forming, and trimming. Comes with some formed brass. Use 41 mag dies to neck size and seat your bullets. Spendy Recknagel 3 leaf express sights, rust blued, and presently stocked with Ruger wood but these could be used for a pattern for fancier wood if desired. Action is border-engraved and case hardened. Steel buttplate. Additional barrels could be added (with the appropriate extractor, which we can supply). You can shoot everything from possums to pachyderms with this rifle, using the appropriate loads. Test fired only. Note, the lever you see on the rhs is the takedown screw ... there is NO SAFETY on this rifle .. it's a Martini!
