W. H. Hamilton side by side .44xl .44GG

Description:
This little side by side is probably the lightest and smallest hammer gun we`ve ever seen, weighing in at only 3lbs 12 oz. Made somewhere around 1880 and baring the name Hamilton, the lockup is tight and the gun is definately shootable. Lovely damascus barells.   At first I thought it was a 410 However it is in fact a 44 XL or 44 G.G. The XL is a shot shell with a paper wrap top and the G.G.is a solid 115 grain projectile, the GG stands for game getter. These little garden guns were used for shooting pests in gardens without destroying everything else around. I've seen a couple of single shots in this unique caliber but this cute little side by side double hammer gun is probably a special order one of a kind.  This gun has several proof marks /stamps/  We belive this gun to be made in Beljium.
