"U.S. Harpers Ferry Model 1795 FLINTLOCK MUSKET .69 caliber (AL3733)

Description:
"NSN, circa 1819, .69 caliber, 45 1/2"" round smooth bore barrel.Metal is a dark brown/grey patina with surface oxidation visible. Lock plate is marked with Eagle motif with ""U.S"" inside a shield. Rear of the hammer is marked ""HARPERS/FERRY/1819"".Roughly about a thousand 1795's were made in 1819 before the production of the model 1816 started. Stock shows expected handling and usage wear with a crack noted on the right side, inside the front barrel band spring. Faint cartouche remains visible on the left side just below the side plate. Action holds at half and full cock. A very interesting example of a late 1795 shoulder arm!
