HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON 1873 OFFICERS MODEL SPRINGRIFLE RIFLE, .45-70, #6XXX. These American made rifles are an almost exact reproduction of the scarce Springfield Officers Model rifles made during the 1870s-1880s for officers in the West for hunting etc. Made in the very early 1970s, this example is in about new and unfired condition and features deep reddish/brown walnut, checkered wrist and forearm, wiping rod, sporting tang sight with blade/bead front sight. It has engraved and case colored lock plate, hammer, breech block, butt plate, pewter forend cap, barrel bands, trigger guard and upper tang. The barrel is richly blued. Tight action, minty bright bore. These are still a great bargain, if you can find one especially in this condition- and Made in the U.S.A.
