The Harrington & Richardson Model 60 Reising is the semi-automatic version of the WWII select fire Models 50 and 55 submachine guns that were used in the Pacific by the USMC. Approx. 3200 were manufactured circa 1944 to 1946 for police, security personnel, and civilian plant guards. They are very scarce today. The 18.5"" 45ACP caliber barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The top of the receiver is marked MODEL 60 --- H&R REISING --- CAL. 45 over HARRINGTON AND RICHARDSON ARMS CO. over WORCESTER. MASS. U.S.A. PAT. PENDING. The serial number, 470, is at the right rear of the receiver behind the safety selector which has SAFE and S.A. markings. The top of the chamber is stamped PS. The gun has approx. 99% blue. The stock is excellent with very minor storage marks and a tiny chip at the toe at the buttplate. The correct H&R swivels are present. The action functions correctly. This excellent semi-auto rifle comes with one correct 20 round magazine that is marked on the front H&R -- REISING over MODEL 50 -- CAL. 45 MAGAZINE over HARRINGORN AND RICHARDSON ARMS CO. over WORCESTER. MASS. U.S.A. The unique Reising magazines were made as either 20 round or 12 round with the 12 round being a 20 round with ribs pressed in the sides to make it single stack.
