H&R 1873 CAVALRY MODEL 1873 TRAPOOR W/ ORIG. 1878 SIGHT
Description: SOLD I bought this H&R Model 171 USA-made reproduction trapdoor carbine in 1976 because it was the 200th anniversary of the United States and the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Little Big Horn. I was very impressed with the quality of the workmanship. I searched out no minor feat in 1976 and located an original 1878 Springfield carbine ladder sight to replace the modern Williams rear sight. Today, the original 1878 carbine sights go for $200. If you don't care about this, put a modern sight back on and sell the antique. The carbine is in near-mint condition. I test-fired it and never got around to shooting it again because handgun shooting is more my thing. It has been safe and happy in my gun room for 48 years. SOLD Rifle Caliber: .45-70 Government Manufacturer: Harrison & Richardson Model: Model 171 Cavalry Carbine Serial Number: SA 450X Condition: Near Mint Metal Condition: Excellent..
