H&R Model 300 .270WIN – c1980, 9.5/10 BORE, 99% FINISH, vintage firearms
Description: General Specs: Harrington & Richardson, c1980, .270 Winchester, 8lbs. 7oz. LOP 13 1/2" Serial Number: A216452 Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this Harrington and Richardson Model 300 chambered in .270 Winchester Magnum. The H&R Model 300 Rifles were produced in small numbers from the late 1960s through the mid-1970s as Harrington & Richardson’s attempt to compete with high-end sporting rifles like the Browning Safari. Their Model 300 rifles used premium components rather than mass-market parts. H&R used three different actions the FN Mauser from 1965 to 1972, the Sako from 1973 to 1977, and later the Zastava Mark X from 1978 to 1983. This example, serial number A216452 produced circa 1980 is built off the highly regarded Zastava Mark X Mauser 98 action. It retains 99% factory finish on the barrel, trigger guard, and receiver. The 22” barrel has a mirror bore that rates 9.5/10 and appears to be unfired apart from the standard factory testing. This rifle is stocked with a custom Fajen walnut capped pistol-grip stock. Has Williams rear V notch sight with a brass beaded front sight, already tapped for a scope, a thumb safety selector, and magazine floor plate release, making unloading a breeze!
