Here we present a C&R Harrington & Richardson “Reising” Model 65 Semi-Automatic Training Rifle, chambered in .22 Long Rifle Rimfire, made circa 1945 in Worcester, Massachusetts. Manufactured between 1944 and 1946, the Reising Model 65 semi-auto rifle was designed to emulate the weight and sight picture of the U.S. M1 Garand and was used by the United States Marine Corp as a training weapon. These rifles were chambered in .22 LR and was designed by Eugene Reising during World War II at the request of the U.S. Government. They requested a gun that would be comparable to the M1 Garand. It came equipped with a medium weight barrel that measures 23 inches in length.
The overall condition is very good. Virtually complete finish. The action is excellent and crisp. The bore is shiny bright with nice rifling. The walnut stock is smooth and solid. The front sighthas been replaced with the assembly you see. A great example of a World War II training rifle!
